THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION

Each citizen of the United States should know and understand the answers to these basic questions. Our Founding Fathers created this document to organize a government that would protect its citizens. More than 200 years after its creation, this organized document and government would still be in effect, blessing the lives of millions of citizens. This document is crucial to the luxuries, rights, and freedoms we enjoy today; yet how well do we understand our own constitution?

SO WHY IS THE CONSTITUTION A BIG DEAL?

BECAUSE IT AFFECTS EVERY ONE OF US

The Constitution is a big deal to the woman for her right to vote. It is a big deal to the African American who is free and receives the same protection as the men and women they work with. It is a big deal to the 18 year-old who wants to make a difference and give their opinion in the next election. It is important for the father who carries a weapon to defend his family. It was a big deal to our Founding Fathers and it is still a big deal to us today.

As citizens of this wonderful country, we should take pride in the organization and detail that is contained in the United States Constitution. We should understand the rights we are given and use those rights to better the communities around us. The more we understand about our Constitution, the more enabled we are to succeed.
